Scandinavian here, there is no solid evidence that the old Norse peoples (Vikings) wore dreads, it’s also fairly unlikely that they did because the most common archaeological find from the era is combs. Braids were worn, but we have very limited evidence as to how they were worn and there is no real overlap between that and black protective styles. 🫶

People from different backgrounds wear western suits or practice asian martial arts, blonde wigs - that’s normal cultural exchange. Every culture has its own traditions, sure. But telling others they can’t appreciate or participate in them ends up doing the very thing some people say they’re fighting against. That’s where the double standards start to show.
