He never told him to stop reaching or keep his hands on the wheel at any point. He was taking deep breaths like he was gearing up to do something. You can tell it’s a story.. Mannnn this cop was not using good judgment at all. It’s like he was asking him for permission to step out and letting the suspect dictate how it was going to go. There is no room for soft in law enforcement.

The cop was very niave. He gave the guy too much room to move and set up a plan. He should have pulled him out of the car as soon as he saw the guy messing with the wires and ignition. The man was not homeless. He was trying to steal the car.

Really wish we had a back story here. He obviously was not homeless, but a thief. But went from politely answering questions to back up. Seems he could not start the car and couldn't think of another way out?
