There’s limited research on this, but what I have seen is if you’re a woman and being attacked or intimidated by a man, a middle aged woman is the most likely to intervene. Anecdotally, you can see this online. Watch a tick-tock post were women are being verbally attacked in the comments by men, you will rarely see other men intervening and calling it out. So, even when there is no physical threat to a man they don’t step in. I’d love to see some content analysis on this.

Can we also acknowledge that this man could have had bad intentions towards all 3 of those women and randomly chose Ariana because she was on the open end of the group. He could have had intentions to attack any or all of them depending on his opportunity. Cynthia Erivo didn’t just protect Ariana, she put herself in exceptional danger to do so.

There is absolutely no excuse for how those paid security failed to react! Cynthia was in between him and Ariana before the bodyguards even realised what was happening. They don't protect, they never protect even when it's their paid employment and responsibility!

Everything about Cynthia Erivo's stance just screamed protection to me. She was making her body a shield, almost curving it around her friend to keep her from harm and she let go when Ariana told her she was OK. She is an awesome example to everyone.
