His actions are not heretical! Everyone needs salvation and the hope of redemption. Fr. Martin is not doing anything wrong but brining someone to Jesus Christ who must workout his salvation in fear and trembling.

I understand the concern. I just trust that Fr. Martin is acting with pastoral care for someone seeking God. The Church has always held space for conscience, discernment, and individual situations. It’s rarely as simple as it looks from the outside. 🙏🏽

I go to a co cathedral church & I can’t even get confirmed & finish my sacraments because my husband has to get an annulment even though he was never previously married through the church. So seeing this kind of sadness my heart when I’m dying, literally yearning, for the Eucharist.

Don’t totally agree. Confirmation is a big step saying you confirm God and all his power and the church on earth. Doesn’t mean he is without sin or without a journey to god. It puts a big target on his back by God. He is basically saying “I know your will AND I’m going to disobey it”. God is harsh to those who know his will and do not follow it.
