Didn’t think this would be how I would use my last bag of my freezer stash 🥲⬇️ I pumped SO much at the beginning of my breastfeeding journey in order to be able to breastfeed, which eventually caused a slight oversupply and a decent freezer stash. I was SO proud of my freezer stash, especially since it took 11 weeks to have enough milk leftover to make my first bag. At around 5 months postpartum my baby was very fussy with bottles and would refuse to drink out of them which resulted in me exclusively breastfeeding (which ended up being the best thing ever for both of us). I started worrying about my freezer stash a few months later because I knew my milk was only good for 6 months in the freezer. The thought of letting my milk expire broke my heart honestly. I worked SO hard for it and I couldn’t imagine letting it go to waste. But as the 6 month expiration approached, I really had no use for my baby to drink a bottle since he refused it anyway. His eczema was pretty bad and we noticed that putting a bag in the tub for him made his skin a lot better! Even though it still hurt every time I would use a bag in the tub, it still made me feel better that it was at least still helping him in some way. And tonight we used our last bag! It’s definitely emotional to think about those early months postpartum. I wish I could tell that version of myself to not stress so much or work so hard. I wish that I could show her how we made it to a year and we’re trying to make it until 2. I don’t think I would’ve believed it 🥹 #freezerstash #pumpingmom #breastfeedingjourney #breastfeeding #MomsofTikTok
