You can use any controller you already own. (Xbox, PS.) And get free games on the Epic Game Store constantly. And you can okay them online free if you have Internet access. You can even get Xbox Game Pass if you want to pay extra. It's going to be expensive, but if you pay monthly, 5 years of PS+ costs $1080, and that doesn't count the cost of the console. So if the Steam Cube costs $1500, it's cheaper. And then there's Steam sales...

As an Xbox only player I honestly don’t have much owned games I play and mostly live off of free to play and gamepass which are both offered on PC

I got an xsx and xss, but id buy this if it's priced right. Got a decent steam library, but I have up on pc gaming since I don't have energy with all the tinkering with drivers etc. And starting a game on xbox, that I played last night, would take 5-10 seconds to start. On pc it's usually 10-30 seconds to start the computer, then probably some updates coming, followed by 30-60sec to start the game and then finally load a save file, instead of jumping right in.

So the steam library is the biggest library in terms of games.It's literally just an upgrade from both. you wait a few months and you get the PlayStation exclusives.
