@dan_the_butler: Dinner party etiquette does not have to be hard, hosting a dinner party should be fun for everyone and that includes where you are placed to sit at the dining table. Bottom line is that you have been invited so you are definitely wanted but seating plans will have an element of seniority with regard to proximity to the host. Don’t be worried if you are placed in the middle, this is a sure sign that the hosts trust you to be an ambassador for them with the guests they can’t access during the dinner, it just means you are a charming dinner companion. Does anybody read these? #butler #dinnerparty #ettiquette #fyp

Good stuff, Dan. Bravo. Just curious, is the protocol for when "It's time to turn" considered archaic? I feel like it would remedy the lulls in conversation you mentioned here.

I’m laughing because you laid the table with my John Lewis table mats! I also have the white ones for when I change up the settings!

I correct your grammar :
I’ve noticed that Americans, in particular, expect to be seated next to their partner. To the extent that they believe any other arrangement is terrible etiquette and a lapse on the host’s part. I wish I could share this video a thousand times! 👏
