I have a lovebird that was from a breeder that had a store in miami. She never was a fan of scratches or pets, but loved being held/out. Sometimes she’ll let you, some birds are just picky about it

My bird is an orange winged Amazon my uncle rescued and gave to my mother over the 20 years I’ve been with him he has recently learned i regularly feed him and I’m safe. It just takes time and every bird is different just like humans ❤️

It’s definitely a process for some birds. The only reason my conure let he even touch him after six months was because I had a handicapped chicken who he loved (he even tried to court her🤣 even though they never interacted for safety concerns) When she got really sick and saw me taking care of her he finally understood I was safe😩
