My grandmother tells us stories about her bestfriend before he went to Vietnam. They were both 18 & graduated HS together. Knew each other when her family moved from Iowa when she was five. He died in battle and he’s forever 19 while she’s in her mid 70’s

I hate wars, Each soldier must leave his life, his home, and his family to fight for the sake of the word "hero" and "the pride of the country" not knowing whether he will return safe or merely as a sacrificed body.
