The only thing about him that could be seen as not canon as stated by Sam Witwer himself are big force feats such as the Star Destroyer being pulled down for example. Sam Witwer went on to say if it were to be canon then it would be explained by turning it into a tall tale or having Galen believe he actually pulled the ship down, when in reality it would’ve come down for some other unrelated reason. Making Galen, and anyone who was watching believe he was just that strong. Him beating Vader was a given, he IS weaker than Vader but Vader is directly weak to Galen’s force lightning. He does overpower Palpatine for a bit but with how quickly he regains control of the situation, it isn’t far fetched to assume it was a part of Palpatine’s plan, possibly to crush his spirits.
