All I can tell you is that things from the 40s 50s and 60s and 70s and even 80s were meant to last forever now a furnace or hot water heater. You’re lucky if you get one or two years out of it nothing’s made the last anymore so sad.

Change the anoid rod every 5-6 years if you have hard water , extends the life 15-20 years ! Rod is about $35 dollars

Have a 1991 state water heater that still works incredibly well. Thinking about replacement tho cuz every time I flush it the amound of rust always ends up clogging the spiggot and making the water orange for a few days lol
