I would agree to this to a certain point it is such a different culture on everything compared to us but when I was there I was annoyed I was turned away from a few different restaurants for not being Japanese.

I’ve been to 50 countries and Japan is my favorite 🤷🏽♀️you’re allowed to criticize it though, I haven’t gone to every city/town there.

Obsession comes from a stark cultural difference and the way they've consumed media and products for the last 50 years. I don't know how it's hard to understand. Japan is like Disneyland to a lot of Americans. It's fantastical, mythical—like a fandom.

THANK YOU I posted a similar video with honest thoughts about Japan and people were so personally offended, I don’t understand why it’s a place that people feel so defensive of. Honestly, this happens with anything people feel attached to. It's not about an obsession with a country. People will get defensive anytime something they like is criticized.

I am obsessed with Japan but I also do respect others opinions if they don’t like the country or certain things about it!! People are weird for getting offended and should learn how to differentiate their opinions with others

Mexico and USA tend to have a big fascination for foreign country’s like Japan. I imagine the rest of the world too. No country is perfect and it’s important to respect other cultures at the same time. My Japanese teacher points things out America that make sense and she doesn’t do it out of disrespect but rather to learn more about America. I personally wouldn’t move to Japan to work there but I would like to experience the culture and speak with locals who have different backgrounds 😊
