You forget one crucial ingredient: intent. You can't say all blaming (if warranted) is 'abuse'. You cannot say a mutual shouting match when emotions are high is 'abuse'.

one time my dad hit me because I had to do school work and I did not want to do the yard work, he once hit my brother because he did not do his laundry correctly, he has flinched towards my mom and almost hit her multiple times and yelled at us saying we never pay attention or do anything right
