Escaflowne the series is way better than the movie. Its pretty but they condensed and edited the story too much to fit in 2hrs. You loose all the character development.

Off tooic but I would’ve loved to see witch hat atelier get this old animation style, I love the current one as well, the details they put on every cloths, the expressions, the movements. Its phenomenal work and the product of a well designed build up but the modern animation has became way to “clean” and refined. We used to have this detailed and blurred animation that gave the vision of a dreamy and beauty crafted finish. I am not complaining about the current animation of WHA and I acknowledge and appreciate the hardwork of the animators, I just wanted to say that the whimsical vibe of the manga of WHA needed this unpolished animation
