I have a rescue border collie that has epilepsy due to poor breeding. He is a money pit and it has caused me heartache but i will never give up on him until he shows signs he cant go on.

The four of mines are rescues. Three lurchers and a greyhound that nobody wanted for various reasons. If I could take in more I would😭

You can be a responsible breeder but if the new owner doesn’t treat that dog right it will become ill not because of bad breeding you can check out new owners but you can’t tell who will be the good owners

the issue with adoption now is the amount of money they ask for and like ive got 2 children one of 2 years old so we cant adopt

Absolutely agree with everything you said! My mum did a litter of labs years ago and the top priority was health testing, then dedication to finding them a forever home, also contracted that they return the dog at any age if no longer wanted.

My gran was a KC registered breeder my whole life. She bred west highland terriers and Scottish highland terriers. At 1 point she had 9 of her own dogs in the house because when she heard about people getting rid of the dogs she had sold to them years prior whe would immediately go and retrieve them and keep them as her own.

we can't adopt because we have a child under 7 so the rehoming centres won't hence why people have to go to breaders xx

I was a caretaker for deer hounds. they spent so much money on a female who ended up with cancer and a leg amputation. People asked nonstop when she was having puppies....NO! That dog had health issues and making her carry a litter would be dangerous to her. People hurt my brain

I agree with you. I wish that all breeders were like you. I have done my research and my breeder has the same ethics as you. Rescue are making it near impossible near me to adopt. The criteria is ridiculous

We tried to go to a rescue but because we had a 2yr old daughter they had next nothing for us because she’s to young, all they was an elderly dog who just didn’t suit our lifestyle we have horses and are incredibly active so the rescue got really annoyed that we didn’t say yes. But we researched breeders etc and ended up going to an amazing breeder who bred KC reg English Pointers and we love our girly x

I have a Pedigree KC registered Miniature Schnauzer with the 5 generation certificate from the kennel club and I know his entire history and have met his parents. I’d love for him to sire one litter. How do I go about it please?
