My son does the same thing. He gets super nervous around people, even my roommates, and hisses if they come in. He never scratches or hurts anyone, but he'll hiss and hide under my bed

One time a maintenance man came to fix my A/C and he wore flips flops and one of my cats is weirdly obsessed with feet and toes so I spent the entire time trying to distract him from sniffing and licking this poor man’s toes
