if you are pulling hair up in a bun etc, you put the topper or fake hair in upside down....

I wouldn’t suggest a messy bun with a hair topper. It will pull where the clips are. Look on YT. Lots of good videos on how to use hair without clips and wrap it up into a messy bun.
