@crowdedkitchen: 10-minute candied walnuts (egg free!) for salads, charcuterie boards or holiday gifting 🎁🥜 Ingredients: 2 cups unsalted walnuts ¼ cup granulated sugar ¼ cup light brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon Pinch of kosher salt ¼ cup water Line a small sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute, stirring often, until the mixture is bubbling and the sugar has completely dissolved. Stir in the walnuts. Continue cooking for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously, until most of the liquid has evaporated and the nuts start to stick together. You can stop at this point, or if you like a crunchy sugar coating, let them go for another minute or two, stirring continuously, until the sugar crystallizes. Transfer the nuts to the prepared sheet pan and spread into an even layer. Let cool completely before using.
