one piece is great, but its also incredibly overrated. some characters are so 1-dimensional, some are so overly dramatic, some are so overly cartoonish, some are so overly stupid. its also incredibly repetitive, slow paced, and many tropes are so overdone it just gets boring and annoying. example: luffy fought katakurri for like 10 episodes, probably more, and at least 4 of those episodes heavily consisted of flashbacks of him training with rayleigh. 90% of those flashbacks were exactly the same thing and nothing new was revealed or discovered. that trope happens every god damn arc. flashbacks that keep repeating, its like ok we get the point now show us how it's going to affect the story already
