We lived on a lake and had a neighborhood pool. My children were not allowed to be on the beach or in the lake without a life-saving device at hand or being worn. I was always present when they were near or in the lake. I did this until they were in high school and they were proficient in swimming. Same rules for their friends. At the pool I always went with them.I never sent them up to the pool without me. Drownding happens so fast. We had 3 Life guards are watching 50 weak swimmers at a time. Do parents really want to put their childs life in the hands of others? I sure didn't. Parents have many responsabilities are numberous and serious. Pay attention and watch your children.
