I used to be a nicu mom for only 1 month & we would always stay late as possible because I know they have 3 babies and if mine cries ik she has to be patient for her nurse if she was doing cares & I just couldn’t handle that. I would always try to leave once I knew she was sound asleep & I would have to basically run out bc if I heard her cry or make noise I’m never leaving. Shoutout to the nicu nurses for all they do!

oh my goodness our nicu has a sound monitor to keep the noise level low. we want the babies to stay settled and hear only their parents' voices. it was the first hospital job I ever had that wasn't overstimulating! I'd talk to your charge nurse about the evidence and see if you can try to start having quiet times if you are unable to move towards a fully quiet unit
