It's very obvious, at least to me, that Robert's dad is a fraud. 1. Absent father. 2. Toxic saying the pulse was never his. 3. Royd points out Robert's dad could have never made the pulse. 4. Robert still missing a chunk of his damn ear as a kid.

He didn’t think that shroud should be on his team and shroud got his ego hurt tried starting a fight and looses. Also the astropulse was a trade for the mech. Shroud is not a hero at all

Idk why everyone though Robbie was a good father? At the start of the episode 1, Robert said that his father wasnt too much with him and in episode 3, when Robert and Royd talk about Robbie and Robert says that the chatting that Royd and his father had was longer than he and his father had ever

The thing is, it’s from Robert’s perspective. He’s gonna feel grief about loosing his dad even if he wasn’t close to him and didn’t know a lot about him. Plus, he’s constantly reminded of his dad’s death and his own seemingly inevitable fate of dying in the Mecha suit.
