Double matt is not necessary, you just had to deepen the depth of the beam, it looks like you have a small depth of the beam. you had to consider more on the beams not slab. the beam you used is too small to support its span and the slab

but those middle crossing short beams were not necessary though! they are just adding weight to that slab yet they serve no purpose because they are not supported anywhere
