By not securing Gaddafi’s weapons caches in Libya, he says, the US put more small and medium arms into the hands of terrorist groups around the world than any arms dealer ever has. The same in Iraq: the US didn’t have enough troops to guard Saddam Hussein’s arms stockpiles, “so we just left them for al-Qaeda and ISIS.” Then he describes the clean-up. When Washington realized thousands of shoulder-fired missiles were out there, the CIA went around trying to buy them back for $5,000 each, no questions asked. Think about that. Wars launched on false pretenses, weapons left unguarded, and then a buyback program for the missiles the war itself loosed. Who paid for the lies?
