And since apparently he’s supposed to be omniscient, he already knew what was going to happen and still did it

The idea that God “gave everyone free will and then drowned them for not doing what He wanted” is a bit of a misread of how the biblical story frames things. Free will doesn’t mean actions have no consequences, it just means people can choose their actions. The Flood narrative describes a world where humanity wasn’t just making random mistakes, but had reached a point of extreme violence, corruption, and cruelty. In other words, it wasn’t God punishing people simply for not listening; it was God responding to a world that had completely collapsed morally. Even today, we accept that having freedom doesn’t exempt someone from consequences if their choices become destructive. Also, the same story emphasizes mercy. Noah’s family is spared, and afterward God establishes a covenant promising not to destroy the world in that way again. So the point isn’t “God removed free will,” but that human choices had become so destructive that a reset was part of the moral drama the text is trying to communicate.

Mind you, he KNEW from the start that it’d happen. He chose to give it to us anyways just to see us suffer.
