@officialkittenlady: Eyeball watch begins! 👀 Kittens’ eyes are closed for the first week of life, typically opening between 8-12 days of age. Once open, their eyes will be baby blue with very large pupils and low vision. Their eyes go through many changes during the first weeks, eventually coming into focus around 4 weeks old, and developing adult eye color around 6-7 weeks. 🧡

my foster kittens are 9 weeks old now, but this was one of my favorite stages of watching them grow. something about their eyes and ear opening made me so emotional. maybe it was because it was a visual representation of their growth since it’s easy to log weights, but is harder to notice a difference when you are feeding them so often and running on zero sleep. worth every lost moment of sleep to see them have their own BIG personalities. who i thought would be spunky is more of a cuddly boy & the one i thought would be cuddly is a wild child. 😂
