Picture this. Sam lost his psychic abilities (for some reason) after the first seasons, but it’s fine bc they were never really his choice. The demon gave them to him by feeding him blood. He also stopped drinking demon blood. But he still always had some kind of talent for these mystic powers. Now, with Rowena as a mentor, he can learn magic. A trade that he finds interesting and that can be used to help others, something he got to choose for himself, not something that was forced onto him, and something he doesn’t have to do alone bc of Rowena and books, since magic isn’t unheard of, unlike demon blood powers. It would’ve given him an interesting storyline and a new resource that they really needed a lot of times
