A piece of jewelry that I have broke so was my momma’s Star of David necklace . She has two of them on one necklace and the big one broke in half when I was playing dodgeball with some little kids and it made me sad because she passed away two years ago, and I never take that necklace off.

this sounds dangerously close to superstition. If you use it as an opportunity to think about the things God wants you to let go in your life, then it can be made meaningful. if you say that God is telling you to let go of something because jewelry did what jewelry does(gets worn down, loved and breaks), then you run the risk of trivializing God, and giving undue power to something.

My cross necklace broke twice. I love it but I was worried too if it’s an idol. We don’t worship it but I do feel more protected like a symbol on me but still only God can protect us. My first cross necklace broke when I almost got electrocuted and the necklace was beside the plug and literally burned it and broke the chain in half. so felt maybe that was a sign not to wear one. I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t because it had two crosses and so I bought one with one cross and love it. I had a sinful dream and I woke up and my cross necklace was broken. I thought maybe in a deep sleep I tried ripping it off or it just broke? Twice I don’t know if it’s a sign not to wear one or if it is okay!
