Sadly the DC-10 was a floored aircraft while the Lockheed L 1011 came out later but because the DC-10 was available 1st airlines went for what was available first and for Turkish airlines this proved to be a terrible mistake.

McDonnell Douglas was such a horrid company, always cutting corners and now that has trickled over to Boeing since the buyout many years ago. Awful.
