A BEAUTIFUL DEATH BEFORE THE JOURNEY TO THE HOLY LAND – ALLAH GRANT HIM JANNAH. A deeply moving and heartbreaking incident has been reported from Konya, Türkiye, where retired imam Abdullah Özkan, aged 68, passed away shortly before beginning his journey to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah to perform Umrah. According to Turkish media reports, Abdullah Özkan had arrived at Konya Airport alongside a group of approximately 180 Umrah pilgrims. Dressed in the traditional white Ihram garments, he was leading a farewell prayer for the pilgrims before their departure to Saudi Arabia. After completing the prayer, he recited the Kalima, the Talbiyah and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Tragically, while reciting the final Salawat, his voice suddenly weakened, and he collapsed. Airport medical personnel immediately rushed to help him and performed emergency resuscitation. He was subsequently taken to Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he could not be saved. His death has left his family, friends, fellow pilgrims and the local community in deep sorrow. Following Friday prayers, his funeral prayer was held at Çarşı Mosque in Beyşehir, and he was laid to rest at Beyşehir Cemetery. **A moment that has touched countless hearts.
