only very rich people send their kids to a camp for the whole summer. they basically use it like a daycare/baby sitter so they can take vacations without their kids. ive gone to summer camps as a kid but it was a week at most

Summer camp is a very New England thing. It’s where I met my (English) husband- we were both camp counselors in Pennsylvania one summer. We now live in Arizona and it’s not as common out here, but you can still find camps if you want it!

Many US companies also do semi-monthly payment (15th and 31st). Much prefer this arrangement.

I think the summer camp thing is a uniquely New England thing (primarily MA, NH, and CT) but yeah, it’s totally done. :)

some of us get paid weekly, just something u get used to. also, I don't think the average American family sends there kids off to camp for a whole summer unless it is a special program or it is a daily where kids r picked up in the evening

Uhhh I think it’s only rich people who send their kids to summer camp for a whole summer. Idk anyone who ever did more than a week at summer camp. Not even 7 days but like went Monday and got picked up Friday kind of deal 😅

I went to day camp as a kid. It had swimming, horseback riding, boats, archery, and more. I absolutely loved it. We'd have a sleepover the last week of camp. Making snores by the campfire, the camp counselors would tell ghost stories then each camp tribe would go to their cabin or tent and giggle until we fell asleep. To be young without bills. Haha
