@king_kisner: Update on my Below The Knee Amputation Journey: I’m 4 weeks post Operation. I get my staples out on Tuesday and start wearing a shrinker sock that is meant to form my remaining leg to be able to fit in a prosthetic. In the meanwhile I’ve been continuing physical therapy. Working on crutching distances that I will face in the community. Elevation changes that occur while walking. And most importantly for me is learning and getting used to going up and down flights of steps. Progressing to where I can be in the community without a risk of a catastrophic fall. Hopefully I get to stay in this rehab facility longer. As I had to file a appeal to stay here longer because of my insurance coverage. Please say a prayer as I just need to stay here past the 23rd of November. Basically until I get the prosthetic leg. Between Christmas and end of January. Currently I live in a non handicap accessible apartment. Down a hill on a secluded no outs let street in Oakland. Please pray for me that I can actually get the time and the environment I need to heal properly. Please say a prayer for me. We all know GOD has the final say in everything.
