So the company gets away with putting worker pay on the worker and customer directly. Meanwhile they make hella profits! uhm uhm I don't like it! Imagine how many teen servers don't know how this works. I sure didn't. I learned though.

I think the argument with tipping is if there was no tipping, there would be no incentive for the worker to give good service. Since tipping isn't mandatory, good service isn't always rewarded. I think it's silly when people say they don't want to pay the restaurants employee, but that's how every business works. Would it be easier if restaurants just increased prices 20%, maybe

It is illegal in every state to require tip outs in excess of received tips. If it is happening to you, you need to look into it.

thank you! like literally a 6% tip is better than no tip cause that at least covers my tip out people also should consider how long they are staying at table based on how much they tip cuz a person that tipped 5$ that might be a 20% tip but stayed for 3 hours just made me lose out on up to 100$ cuz I cannot get another table in that's why servers that go out will pay "table rent" if they are going to stay for quite a while cuz they know they are causing you to lose out on money

I totally agree. Let restaurants raise their prices to reflect the living wage…it will be easier for consumers to decide if they can afford to frequent the restaurant

and the last few times I have gone out to eat servers have been horrible and still expect a tip. in fact we went out for an anniversary and the service ruined our night.
