one time I walked into lawson at 7 am, still tired. grabbed some food and drinks. walked up to the till and looked at cashier in the eyes and said arigato.... konichiwa. we both started laughing and she scanned my items. I paid and said arigato again lol both started laughing again.

I was at a temple where I was looking for a particular charm. They didn't have it but she explained the other charms. I wanted to be polite and say "Kangaete okimasu- 考えておきます(I'll think about it)" instead I said "Kangaete(Think)" I walked away in a panic and I'm sure the poor is miko is puzzled to this day about our conversation 😭🤣.
