So instead of paying 23 or 24% for state, local, SS, medicare, and federal, we pay 30% for just federal and state and local are on top of that. Not to mention sales tax, gas tax, property tax, tobacco tax, liquor tax, and who knows what else....

this only hurts lower income families. Where I am at, we already have a 6% sales tax. Increasing it to 36% would be insane. I know it removes the federal tax at the end of the year, but there are a lot of people who aren't financially literate enough to handle this.

Imagine you spend $1000 on groceries at 30% now your groceries are 1300 a billionaire spends $2000 on groceries now he spends 2600 who can afford the extra money for groceries? You or the billionaire it is effectively a tax reduction for the upper one percent and nothing more.
