Why are you using pressure treated lumber indoors? Pressure treated lumber has poisonous chemicals (arsenic amongst many others) embedded into the lumber under pressure to prevent it from rotting and bug infestation. It’s suitable to be around food due to the chemicals that leak from it over time. If you sand it, you must use a respirator, not a cloth mask, a respirator due to chemicals in it.

You need to run into that pantry as fast as you can and tear out all of that pressure-treated lumber. That is not safe to be inside the house, especially around food items or food prep areas. You need to go with either yellow pine, some sort of Hardwood or a knotty alder. The chemicals that they use in pressure treated wood I don’t even touch that stuff without wearing gloves.

I am not a professional but I have always been told you should wait to stain treated lumber. If it’s not dry, the stain may not stick. So keep that in mind for the future. I’m wishing you the best lady.
