Jesus fulfilled this position in Peter, told him what you bind on earth is bound in heaven, what is bound in heaven is bound on earth. the pope is the gatekeeper, the right hand man to Jesus. that’s the biblical history to the pope.

Im not Catholic but, Some Catholics online (especially trad or extremist groups) say: “No submission to the pope = no salvation.” This is NOT official Catholic teaching. It’s like Christians on TikTok saying “If you don’t say the sinner’s prayer word-for-word you’re damned.” It’s just people adding rules God didn’t give. Well God doesn’t see it that way, nor does the Bible have any verses making such a claim. The Bible ACTUALLY says “God is NOT a respecter of persons”, Acts 10:34, meaning we are all EQUAL in God’s eyes. No one is more holy than anyone else, they just THINK they are more holy than you. 🙄
