in hs we had a councilor teach the teens how to teach 8th graders to stay safe at a party (showing how easy it is to spike a drink with candy ect) and went to the 7/8th graders schools to teach how to be safer (since we knew they'd party anyways)

some may argue that teaching is allowing, but the fact is that being a single teen mom's daughter and being educated in school only made me sure that being pregnant is something I don't want in my life

no to make light, but it's how I potty trained my youngest. I got someone she thought was VERY COOL to come over and be like "potties are so amazing. why aren't YOU using one?" and that was that.

kinda sad how that’s rarely the case in private schools because they usually avoid absolutely anything parents might have an issue with. i studied in them my entire life (*multiple* private schools) and not once have i had a sex ed class

Brazilian here… we have information about periods around third grade and sexEd classes some grades later, but we also formed groups and did presentations about contraceptives, condoms and STIs at school (class and science fair when parents and other people came by during a whole day to listen to us speak about different topics at each ”booth” with signs, pictures, pamphlets and props).

Brazilian here. My science teacher dedicated an entire class to SexEd in ninth grade, explaining everything from what each type of condom was for & how to use it (M & F), STDs, how everyone's factory equipment works during the Things™, how pregnancy occurred, and why such early pregnancy was dangerous for both girls and boys, consent, and how to identify inappropriate touching for both genders. Professor Denise, wherever you are, know that I'm still thinking about you 🫶
