Channon Christian (21) and Christopher Newsom (23) were found dead after being kidnapped, be*ten, and r*ped in 2007. January 6th 2007, Channon and Chris planned on going to a party, but decided to return home after meeting up with friends. As the couple shared a kiss, they suddenly were carjacked and abducted from the Washington Ridge Apartments. The two were taken to a home on Chipman Street in Knoxville, TN where five perpetrators repeatedly physically and sexually assaulted them throughout the night. Chris was later taken to a nearby railroad track, where he was sh*t three times and set on fire. Channon was later forced in a trash bin inside the home, unclothed from the waist down, bound, and bagged inside of five trash bags. Chris Newsom’s body was discovered near railroad tracks in East Knoxville the following morning by a train conductor. An autopsy revealed he was badly be*ten and r*ped. Chris died from being sh*t twice in the back and once in his head. Channon’s body wasn't discovered until days later when police found fingerprints inside the stolen vehicle on January 9th, 2007. The fingerprints led back to the home of Lemaricus Davidson on Chipman Street where Channon’s body was recovered. Channon’s autopsy revealed Bleach was poured down her throat, and on her genital area to destroy DNA evidence. Channon died from suffocation. After a search warrant was granted, police were able to gather DNA and obtained more information through phone records. Knoxville Police arrested George Thomas (24), Letalvis Cobbins (24), Lemaricus Davis (25), Eric Boyd (34), and Vanessa Coleman (18). They were all tried separately and found guilty of carjacking, kidnapping, torture, for the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome. Letalvis was sentenced to life w/o parole. Lemaricus was sentenced to death. George was sentenced to life with parole after 51 years. Eric was sentenced to 18 years, but after a re-trial in 2020 he was sentenced to life. Vanessa was sentenced to 35 years, she has been eligible for parole since 2017 but constantly denied. Her sentence will expire in 2036. #truecrime #crimetok #untoldmysteries #fyp #foryoupage
