Before anyone says “go to therapy” or “do the self work first”, relationship wounds heal in healthy relationship environments. You can be completely healed from a past relationship while alone and have those wounds and avoidant tendencies reactivate even with a healthy, supportive partner!

she was avoidant to the point where we never even saw each other in person. hours of no contact would upset me but i understood that it just feeds her avoidance if i brought it up so i soon stopped asking for reassurance let alone communication. hours turned days and weeks and she would respond like she isn’t pulling away. I would try to question her isolation ever so gently, even then it triggers her avoidance. I’ve tried to learn the psychology of the fearful avoidant and the measures to make her feel safe. My efforts and my tolerance just separates us more for my actions of love makes her question why I do this for her and how she doesn’t deserve it. I even refrained from bringing up meeting each other because it’s me and only me who she feels fearful about. if ever our eyes meet, so she wouldn’t allow it. I’m anxious and not quite well secure but I endured. I know i wasn’t the most patient but I tried. I’ve grown to accept her avoidance as love and how strongly she feels about me. She discards herself because she thinks someone out there would give me what I deserve but i think otherwise. Out of everybody that pursued her far less than I, it’s me who will never feel her warmth. It pains that someone with far less effort, one who she feels less towards would be blessed with what I bargained for. it’s like our strings of faith doesn’t connect but just passes by each other to our own destiny’s. thats probably why we are enlightened about each others existance but not quite for we never met eye to eye. I don’t think that much was needed for me to realize the unfairness of this world, but i’ll take what I can get.
