What got me as a kid was being a science & animal planet fan. So when I heard Noah’s Ark I immediately called BS cause how did you get 2 Gazelle’s and 2 Cheetahs on a boat together without the cheetahs trying to attack ? lol how did you get 2 anacondas on the boat? How did the boat fit 2 elephants, 2 rhinos and 2 giraffes? Who cleaned the mess? Who fed them? At the age of 8 I knew the Bible was just a comic book wit no pictures 😂

My domino effect was also in college, when they taught me that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John weren't actually the authors of those books, and that they were written at least 80 years after the fact.

This is exactly why I’ve started referring to the Bible and everything related as Christian mythology. It is no different from the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Celtics, etc. They all have their own pantheon. If the Christian god is real, then so are the rest of them. If none of the others exist then neither does this one. All of it is mythology that may or may not be true

The questions started for me when I was 12 and couldn't figure out how God could be a jealous God if jealousy is a sin, but it wasn't until 26 years after that 1st question that I decided to start deconstructing. Then it took another 2 years to finally walk away for good. Best decision I've ever made.

My deconstruction started as an adult when I had a child. And I refused to tell that child he would go to hell, simply bc he existed. It was a domino effect from there for sure.

For me it was when I found out about all the mistranslations in the good book. I felt what's stopping anyone from coming along to rewrite it to say what they want all for purposes of control. It's not "God's" actual word.

This may sound silly, but for me it was being taken to a natural history museum when I was four. If the Bible told the history of the world then where were the dinosaurs? I questioned everything after that and when I became an adult I never went back to church. Honestly it gives me the ick.

Happy belated birthday! I used to have a kid's Story Bible when I was little, and I remember reading a story about an old lady that only had two coins and gave them both up and got God's favor. But my dad would get mad at me for trying to give food and shit away. 😂😂
