Asian men are usually expect marriage. So they are really courting. Western men are usually just dating and see where it goes. So they are more 50/50. Once they decide you might be the mother of his child, he is more generous in providing. It is easy to feel like not getting the same anymore from high baseline, as getting more from low baseline.

As an Asian man, I give everything from the get go because I believe in 60/40, where both sides aims to be the 60. It’s honestly a good filter because I’m not settling for someone who won’t put in the same effort. I only taper back when there’s no reciprocity. 🥰

I’ve never understood the 50/50 argument. I’ve never seen it work and have no interest. Definitely not on the dinners, or nights out. Maybe general life stuff if you’re living together. Say splitting the bills and what not.

asian is all about family. we tend to have our parent live with us vs white sending their parent to elder home. so when we like and believe someone. we want them with us and treat them right especially if they are less fortunate. when you love someone. if you can help someone be better or give/help them a better life. you do it ASAP from the start.

My two college professors had different approaches regarding the grade systems. Beginning of the school year, one professor said "Everyone has an A+ on the first day, it's up to you to keep it or lose it"...and the other professor? "You gotta come to class, take quizzes and tests. Your grade will be a reflection of your performance".
