Agree. It’s a sweeping statement. And yes it’s indeed bleak when you’re yearning for children and can’t have them due to infertility or not finding the right partner to have them with. Those people do not need to hear this.

The procreation line, which was not a direct quote from TC btw, was literally just saying that none of us would exist without procreation. Which is unquestionably true?? And he also did NOT say that *being childless* is bleak. That comment was specifically in reference to another MALE celeb’s interview where that guy spoke about not having kids in comparison to those who do have kids (and said that he “definitively” has more time and gets more “active enjoyment” out of life than those with kids do). THAT opinion is what he found “bleak”, not the fact that the guy chose not to have children. In the paragraph before this, TC discussed how much he admired Denis for being able to balance being a master at his craft AND a family man. He was not making a broad statement about this topic at all
