Things in our caravan that just make sense 🙌🏼 The drop-down bed is a big one. Instead of losing a huge chunk of the van to a permanent bed, we get this massive club lounge, loads of living space AND a beautiful big galley kitchen. Then at night, the bed just comes down when we need it. The little flip-up bench in the ensuite gives me extra bench space when I’m getting ready, without taking up any extra room the rest of the time. And the window in the shower… ventilation, heaps of natural light and the occasional sunset view while you’re showering 😉 Not mad about that one. Then there’s the dual-living setup, which has worked even better than we hoped. The whole front section of the van is our ensuite, bathroom, laundry and office area, and we added another door that separates the office/laundry from the bathroom. That means I can work late at night in the office, close the doors and Chris can go to bed without hearing me. Chris can get up early, make his coffee out there, close the doors and I don’t hear the coffee machine. And because we had the diesel heating (we have the Diesel Heat DH15 from Diesel Heat Australia) ducted into that room too, we can close it off and use it as a drying room when it’s raining, humid or we can’t hang washing outside - like right now. The not-so Sunny Coast is exactly the conditions we created this for! It’s those little practical things that don’t necessarily look exciting on a floor plan, but make a massive difference when you actually live in a caravan full time. Would you do this in your van? 🤔
