Growing up as a Mormon teenager in SL(c),UT during the release of the books/movies and the collective cultural obsession from both members & non-members (specifically the Twilight Moms??) was such a ✨niche✨ way to truly experience this universe 🤣 all of what you’re expressing here was not lost on me hahaha

To me, Bella never seemed like she was in it for love. Bella was in it because she wanted to be a vampire and the fact that love happened to her with a wealthy vampire just happened to be a bonus for her like I read the books. she seemed very apathetic towards the love aspect

I think Carlisle was very Joseph Smith coded, with the Vulchuri being Catholics and I thought then that Edward was Brigham Young/Jesus. The most shocking thing to me was reading Midnight Sun and learning that the Cullans don’t like humans, they just think they are better than other vamps
