@evertrailtours: This free museum in Onna Village tells the story of Okinawa's coastal life through three zones: Life in Onna, showcasing tools, farming, and fishing traditions "The Village Protected by Gods" theater, highlighting rituals and spiritual heritage and The Path of Onna, which takes you from ancient Gusuku ruins to modern times. Beyond the exhibits, you can see a sabani (traditional wooden boat), dioramas of village life, and enjoy sweeping ocean views from the second floor. Fun fact: The building's upper floor was designed not just for the view but also to regulate humidity and protect the artifacts. Right next door is Onna Station Nakayukui Market, perfect for snacks and souvenir's.

I’m currently here and deep diving on WW2 history. It’s so sad and almost unbelievable. I am half-Japanese and my grandmother was interned in Canada and as a family, we’ve felt the weight of Japan and what happened here as a family… so so sad. 😞
