He abolished the Ottoman system because it had already collapsed keeping it would’ve meant occupation and partition. Sharia as state law is inconsistent and unequal, so it was replaced to create one fair legal system for everyone. Islam wasn’t banned either, it was separated from politics so it couldn’t be abused by those in power. He restricted Islamic clothing in state institutions because he wanted religion to stop being a political marker, not because he wanted to erase Islam and clothing wasn’t outlawed in private life, and the adhan change was later reversed anyway. The reason why European laws were adopted was because they actually worked and helped build a functioning, independent state. I don’t get what’s wrong with any of this
