That looks like the queue for the Vatican museum not St Peter’s…to avoid you purchase skip the line tickets in advance. It’s the same price as waiting in the never ending line.

Yes it is. St Peter's Basilica is incredibly awesome.

Just get a tour guide, most of them have skip line passes. For the Vatican Church, it’s free, just get there early before most people arrive.

Last Wednesday the skip the line queue was nearly 2 hours. The other queue was even longer.

Hey so I waited only 15-20 minutes in the Vatican and I went in the beginning of November. Also guys remember most of the sites out there are a scam. If you’re 18-25 you can go in the colosseum for 2€ and I waited in line for 15 minutes

I signed up forthe Pilgrimage group, not only we went thru a barricaded lane just for us but did not have to wait in line at all 🙃

I had booked with months in advance and waited in this line. Was it worth it? Yesssss, and if you’re able to go to the top of the dome, DO IT!!! Best views of Rome

A few things: this isn't a representative experience, there are lots of ways of bypassing long lines with a little research, and it's the Vatican during a jubilee year. No other place in Rome has lines *anything* like this.

Pre-booked ticket at the start of Nov and got in exactly on our time slot just walk past the non ticket queue
