Yall realise they couldn’t go back to normal life regardless. This ending had to happen for them to live peacefully. The world would always treat them like lab rats, or view them as criminals or aliens or impostors. They’d never be free from the government or hatred from the public. This ending was the only way for them to live happily ever after with everyone they loved
