Can you suggest some cotillion organizations for black boys? We have a local cotillion org, but I don’t think there are many or any black children in the organization from the research I’ve done. My son did 6 years of Catholic school as the only black kid in his grade. It was awkward and uncomfortable for him. I promised to never put him in that position again. My husband and I are also not affiliated with any Greek letter organizations. We’d love to hear some suggestions on where to sign our kids up for cotillion.

When more than 7 you may eat when the third person is served. Being overly polite makes for a very cold and unpleasant meal.

I want to include a caveat to the ordering when someone else is paying. When I take my son, who is in college, and his friends out to dinner I am happy when they order more than I do as I tend to have a salad, but I make sure to let them know, “please feel free to order anything on the menu”. Usually they then take cues my son’s order, which is fair.
